Directions

Five Mile Beef Meatballs

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound Five Mile Beef Grass-Fed Ground Beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped parsley
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon ghee, lard, tallow or butter (for cooking)
  • Your favorite pasta sauce for serving

  • Instructions:

    1. Prep the Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix everything together until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the meatballs tender.
    2. Form the Meatballs: Scoop out the mixture and roll into balls, about 1.5 inches in diameter. This should yield about 15-20 meatballs, depending on size.
    3. Cook the Meatballs: Heat the ghee, lard, tallow, or butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Cook, turning occasionally, until the meatballs are browned on all sides and cooked through, about 10-15 minutes.
    4. Simmer with Sauce: Once all the meatballs are cooked, you can return them to the pan and cover them with your favorite pasta sauce. Let them simmer on low heat for about 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
    5. Serve: Serve your delicious grass-fed beef meatballs over a bed of freshly cooked pasta, tucked into a sub roll, or with a side of sauce for dipping. Garnish with extra Parmesan cheese and parsley if desired
